I’m Naoko, the founder of Field Moon Handmade Soap.

Field Moon began with a simple intention: to create well-made, everyday care that feels calm, dependable, and quietly special.

I grew up in Tokyo, Japan, a city of more than 13 million people, and moved to Waterville, Washington nearly two decades ago. Trading city life for a small, close‑knit town of just over a thousand people was a profound change — one that took time, patience, and care to grow into.

Living in a dry climate, I became deeply aware of how easily skin can become dry and uncomfortable. When my children began struggling with dry skin, I started making soap and simple skincare products at home, searching for something gentle, nourishing, and effective. Those early experiments revealed how thoughtful formulations and well‑chosen ingredients could truly support everyday comfort.

What began as a personal project soon became a quiet passion. In 2016, that passion grew into Field Moon Handmade Soap — a small‑batch studio rooted in care, consistency, and intention. Over time, the collection expanded beyond soap to include hair and body care, but the approach has remained the same: simple formulations, carefully selected ingredients, and products designed to be used and enjoyed every day.

Field Moon is still very much a labor of love. I’m grateful to create pieces that feel good to use and find their way into daily routines. Just as important to me is the connection with the people who choose my work — listening, responding, and offering care that feels personal and genuine.

Thank you for being here, and for taking the time to learn about Field Moon.

Proudly made in Waterville, Washington.

Field Moon Handmade Soap

Field Moon Handmade Soap
